Our Services

Due North Design & Drafting Inc. provides the professional skills to design and develop drawings required to build your future home or cottage.

Consult

Each project begins with a discussion for you to share all your ideas. Determining your end goal and what you would like to achieve is key during the preliminary design phase. You will begin by filling out a design questionnaire to help get you thinking about how you plan to utilize your space and what is required for your new home or cottage.

Design

Once the basic design program has been established, along with determining site conditions and budget, the conceptual design will begin. It will begin with spatial placement of rooms that will evolve into an organized space that is both functional and accommodates the needs and wants of the client. During the preliminary design phase, you’ll be able to see floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings to help envision your new home or cottage.

Once a final design has been established, we will then proceed with construction drawings. We can provide everything you need to acquire a building permit. We are fully insured and BCIN certified for homes and small buildings.

Meet Jessica

As long as Jessica could remember, she loved designing homes, always coming up with different ideas for houses she would one day build. It was no question she wanted to pursue Architecture as a career.

In 2012 Jessica graduated with an advanced diploma from the Architectural Technology program at Fanshawe College. In 2015 Jessica formed Due North Design & Drafting, a firm specializing in residential design.

Prior to venturing out on her own, Jessica worked for a well-known design build firm and engineering firm, gaining both knowledge and experience to successfully operate her own design firm.

Being raised in Huntsville, Jessica knew she wanted to settle down in Muskoka. She is married to a loving, supportive husband, sharing two wonderful kids. Jessica enjoys travelling and camping with her family, and in her spare time, enjoys being creative and crafty.

Meet Nicole

In 2020, Nicole joined Jessica at Due North Design & Drafting Inc. as a Partner and Designer, serving the Southwestern Ontario region.

Nicole has known she wanted to pursue a career in home design since she was young, and her family built a new home. In the early stages of building, she found herself browsing through countless house plans and would imagine new concepts and ideas.

Pursuing those interests, Nicole enrolled in the Architectural Technology program at Fanshawe College where she graduated in 2012 with an advanced diploma. It was here that Nicole and Jessica became friends and later, business partners. Nicole went on to work in the engineering field before later joining Due North returning to the architectural field.

In her down time, Nicole and her husband keep busy with their three children. They enjoy relaxing with friends and family at their rural farmhouse property.”
